The Project

The Pursuit is a cinematic public story about the American Dream as lived by people who pursue freedom, dignity, security, ownership, family provision, and legacy through very different paths.

What the film asks

How has the American promise of liberty, independence, property, work, enterprise, and self-determination been understood, expanded, contested, and experienced by different communities across American history?

The project is not limited to one category of business owner or one community. It is built to include multiple perspectives: Black, white, immigrant, wealthy, working class, poor, young, old, veterans, bankers, historians, athletes, entrepreneurs, street-level survivors, and people who tried to build but were blocked or broken by the attempt.
